The Urgent Need

In the remote mountains of southwestern Uganda, near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, over 250 children attend Rushaga Community School, their only chance at education. The school buildings are falling apart and deteriorating, putting children in danger every single day.

The reality these children face: dirt floors mixed with broken glass that cuts bare feet; parasites that enter their bodies through contaminated floors; and crumbling walls and leaking roofs that collapse during storms. Missing doors and windows expose them to the weather and wildlife, while broken or absent desks force them to sit on unsafe floors. These are not just inconveniences; they are daily threats to their health, safety, and futures.

Who We Are Helping

Rushaga Community School serves students ages 4-17, including 80 Batwa children from families displaced when Bwindi Forest became a protected park. For many of these children, including orphans living in school dormitories, this school is their only opportunity for education, meals, and a stable environment. Because this is a community-run institution without government support, they cannot rebuild alone.

The Strategic Partnership

We are proud to work with trusted partners to bring this initiative to life.

Global Peace Media serves as our fiscal sponsor, securely processing and holding all donations in trust until the project is underway. This partnership structure provides donors with tax-deductible giving options, transparent fund management, and the assurance that every contribution directly impacts the lives of the Children in Rushaga.
