The story of Mi Bella Mondo (meaning “My Beautiful World”) didn’t start in an office; it began with the stories of a merchant marine father and a single road trip through Italy in a tiny Renault Le Car. It was there, savoring fresh pasta in a small village, that our founder, Cristy, first discovered La Dolce Vita and a profound connection to the world’s cultures.
For years, Cristy traveled the globe—navigating the mountains of Nepal, the deserts of Chile, and the chaotic beauty of India without a guidebook or a set itinerary. Through decades of global exploration as a solo traveler, wife, and mother, she learned that the most transformative moments don’t happen at famous landmarks, but in the “margins”—the strangers who open their homes, the families who share their meals, and the local stewards who protect their land.
After a successful career in Information Technology, Cristy realized her true calling: to use her strategic background to build a better model for global travel. She saw that travel has the power to be more than just a vacation; it can be a verifiable force for good.
