WHY RAJASTHAN

A land that gets into you

Rajasthan is not a destination you pass through. It is a place that accumulates — fort by fort, city by city, conversation by conversation — until it becomes something you carry home with you. India’s royal heartland is one of the most visually extraordinary places on earth. Ancient forts rise from desert plains. Stepwells descend into the earth in perfect geometric symmetry. Palaces that once housed maharajas now house you.

Mi Bella Mondo’s Rajasthan journeys go beyond the monuments. We visit the Bishnoi community — India’s first conservationists, protecting wildlife for 500 years. We sit in a haveli kitchen and cook the food of the region with local hands. We arrive at a school for the blind in Jaipur not as donors, but as travelers who understand that how you spend your money matters.

Whether you have been drawn to India your whole life, or simply know that Rajasthan belongs on your list, this is that journey. And the Taj Mahal? You see it twice. At sunset, and again at sunrise.

What a Rajasthan journey looks like

Samode Palace

A 475-year-old heritage monument tucked into the Aravalli hills. Ornate halls, painted courtyards, and maharaja-era grandeur. Most tours drive past palaces. You sleep in one.

The Taj Mahal

Twice. Sunset on Day 10. Sunrise on Day 11. Both visits, including all entrance fees, are are fully included. Most tours offer one or the other. This journey includes both.

Jaipur

The Pink City. UNESCO World Heritage Site. Amber Fort by jeep, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and a Rajasthani cooking class followed by dinner at Raghunath Haveli.

Jodhpur

The Blue City. Visit one of India’s most impressive fortresses, rising 400 feet above the Blue City. The views from the ramparts across Jodhpur’s indigo rooftops are among the most dramatic in Rajasthan.

Bundi

Rajasthan’s Hidden Gem. Ancient stepwells, the Chitrashala Picture Gallery, Taragarh Fort, and almost no tourists. This is the Rajasthan that most travelers miss entirely.

Chand Baori

One of India’s largest and deepest stepwells, 3,500 steps descending 13 stories into the earth in perfect geometric symmetry. En route to Agra on Day 10.

Bishnoi Village

A 22km jeep safari from Jodhpur into the village of India’s first environmentalists, a community that has protected wildlife for over 500 years. Blackbucks, Chinkaras, and Desert Foxes near Guda Bishnoi Lake.

RNKS

School for the Blind. Mi Bella Mondo donates $150 on behalf of each traveler toward educational resources for visually impaired students at the RNKS School in Jaipur. We visit the school and meet the students.

12 days across India's royal heartland

This is our planned itinerary for the 2026 journey. When we have a confirmed collective, we finalize every detail together with our local partners. Future Rajasthan trips will follow a similar route with potential variations.

Day 1 - October 12 - Arrival in Delhi

Arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport. Our representative meets you at Exit Gate #5. Transfer to the hotel. Welcome dinner tonight.

Day 2 - October 13 - Delhi > Jodhpur, The Blue City

Fly to Jodhpur (domestic flight included). Visit Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, and Umaid Bhawan Palace. Evening at leisure in the Blue City.

Day 3 - October 14 - Bishnoi Village Safari

Jeep safari 22km from Jodhpur to Bishnoi Village. India’s first conservationists have been protecting wildlife for 500 years. Blackbucks, Chinkaras, and Desert Foxes near Guda Bishnoi Lake.

Day 4 - October 15 - Drive to Bundi

Drive to Bundi, Rajasthan’s most enchanting and least-touristed town. Stop en route at Nimaj Village and its 400-year-old Rathore clan palace. Overnight in Bundi.

Day 5 - October 16 - Day in Bundi

Raniji ki Baori (Queen’s Stepwell), Taragarh Fort, Sukh Mahal, and the Chitrashala Picture Gallery within Garh Palace.

Day 6 - October 17 - Samode Palace

Drive to Samode Village. Check in to Samode Palace, a 475-year-old heritage monument. Ornate halls, painted courtyards, manicured gardens. Dinner at the palace tonight.

Day 7 - October 18 - Jaipur, Folk Dance Dinner

Drive to Jaipur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Birla Temple and Patrika Gate. Evening: dinner with a traditional Rajasthani folk dance performance.

Day 8 - October 19 - Jaipur

Amber Fort by jeep, Jal Mahal, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar. Evening: cooking class followed by dinner at Raghunath Haveli.

Day 9 - October 20 - Jaipur

Gaitore Ki Chhatriyan, Albert Hall Museum, Jaigarh Fort (home to the world’s largest cannon on wheels), Nahargarh Fort.

Day 10 - October 21 - Sunset at Taj Mahal

Drive Jaipur → Agra via Chand Baori stepwell. Agra Fort. Taj Mahal at sunset, your first of two visits. Both entrance fees are fully included.

Day 11 - October 22 - Sunrise at Taj Mahal

Rise before dawn. Taj Mahal at sunrise, the most beautiful light on earth. Drive to Delhi via Akshardham Temple.

Day 12 - October 23 - Departure

Final breakfast. Transfer to Indira Gandhi International Airport. Depart India.

Physical Expectations

Activity Level: Moderate (Level 2 of 5)

Travelers should be comfortable walking several hours on uneven surfaces, cobblestones, and steps inside forts and palaces. No strenuous hiking required. All transportation is by air-conditioned vehicle throughout.

MBM and its guides reserve the right to prohibit participation in any portion of the itinerary if a participant’s physical condition or behavior is deemed a safety risk to themselves or the group.

Fort & Palace Visits

Significant walking on uneven stone surfaces and steps. Comfortable footwear essential.

Stepwell Visits

Steep descending steps at Chand Baori and Bundi's stepwells. Handrails available. Not suitable for those with severe mobility limitations.

Jeep Safari

Bishnoi Village, open jeep on unpaved roads. Moderate physical comfort required.

Taj Mahal Visits

Flat walking on marble and stone. Sunrise visit requires an early start (pre-dawn).

Travel Days

Some long drives on paved roads between cities — typically 3–6 hours. Air-conditioned vehicles throughout.

Cooking Class

Standing for 1–2 hours in a kitchen setting. Low physical demand.
